Size Guide

Every piece in The Patriot Couple Shop is printed to order, and we cannot accept returns or exchanges for fit. So we want you to pick the right size the first time. This guide shows the actual measurements of the garments we use. If you are still unsure, email us at thepatriotcoupleshop@gmail.com and we will help you choose.

The quickest way to choose

Lay a tee, sweatshirt, or hoodie you already own and like flat on a table. Measure straight across the chest, about 1 inch below the armhole, from seam to seam. Then measure from the highest point of the shoulder down to the bottom hem. Find the row below that is closest to your numbers. Matching the measurements of a favorite piece is more reliable than guessing from a letter size.

T-shirts

Our tees are Bella + Canvas 3001 unisex tees in sizes XS to 5XL. They are 100% combed and ring-spun cotton and pre-shrunk, with a soft, true-to-size retail fit.

Sweatshirts and hoodies

Our crewneck sweatshirts are Gildan 18000 and our pullover hoodies are Gildan 18500. Both are unisex, 50% cotton and 50% polyester heavy blend fleece, in sizes S to 5XL. They share the same measurements and a regular fit that leaves room for a layer underneath.

How to read the charts

Width is measured flat, straight across the chest. Around chest is simply double the width, which is the full circumference of the garment. For a comfortable fit, the around-chest number should be at least 2 to 4 inches larger than your own chest measurement for a tee, and 4 to 6 inches larger for a sweatshirt or hoodie. Length runs from the high point of the shoulder to the bottom hem. Sleeve length runs from the center back of the collar, along the shoulder seam, to the end of the sleeve.

Fit tips

Between two sizes, size up if you like a relaxed fit and size down if you like a closer fit. These are unisex cuts, so some women prefer to go one size smaller than they would in a women's cut, and some men choose one size larger for a roomier feel. Garments are measured by the manufacturer, and the actual size can differ from the chart by up to 2 inches (5 cm), so treat the chart as a close guide rather than an exact specification.

Many of our designs come as matching pairs, like Mr. and Mrs. styles, or the same design in different sizes for a couple. Order each piece separately in each person's size, using the chart above for each of you.
